You’re allowed to want more — by Feminist Business Coach, Lauren Wallett

Maybe he’s born with it? Maybe it’s White Supremacy?

Let’s start on the same page:

We all live in a Capitalist White Supremest Patriarchy.

The lie they have sold us is that we can ALL get super-rich, but in reality, the system serves very few.

Of the billionaires, Forbes counted in 2020, the top 5 are (you guessed it) Old. White. Men. From 1 to 5: Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Bernard Arnault, Warren Buffett, Larry Ellison. Two years later, in 2020, the top 5 billionaires are (yup- still…) Old. White. Men. From 1 to 5: Bernard Arnault, Elon Musk, Steve Ballmer, Larry Page, Sergey Brin. Jeff Bezos has a bad trading day — he’s at number 6 on the list.

Here’s the crux. The old way is broken. And the rulers of the old way are rich white men.

We’d all love a quick fix, winning formula, and an easy way out, but look where all that got us? Circling the drain of the apocalypse.

We build the new world on integration, inclusivity, and community over competition. The world does not belong to the old rich white men; it belongs to each of us, together.

It’s time to break free of the old rules and usher in some fresh ideas. So we need to break 3 of the most outdated business lies we’ve been force-fed. Here are 3 rules that worked for rich old white men and they won’t work for you.

Three business rules that don’t work:

1.) Hard work pays off.

Who run the world? Mediocre golfers, whom refer to oppression as an opportunity.

Labor is literally the hardest work, and it’s done by slaves. For free. So no, hard work doesn’t pay off. A janitor doesn’t work a billion times less hard than Jeff Bezos.

Holding wealth should be a criminal offense.

No one needs that much money.

It’s legitimately outrageous.

What can you do?

Play. Rest. Repeat.

Fuck the Patriarchy.

Prioritize your own pleasure.

2.) You need to focus.

If you’re a man, you’re an entrepreneur, but as a woman you’re multi-passionate?

So Richard Branson can have Virgin airplanes, credit cards, and gyms, but dammit Becky — you can’t be a coach AND a copywriter! That’s your problem!

It’s not. Being told you “just need to focus” is to shame you into paralysis and keep you playing small.

You’re not thinking too big — you’re thinking too small.

You’re allowed to want more.

You need to Experiment. Express ALL of you. Expand your offers.

The world doesn’t know what you offer until you share it with them. Don’t limit yourself assuming the world wants less. The new world wants ALL.

3.) Listen to men.

Don’t listen, hire, or buy from old white men. It’s enough and you’ve heard it all a thousand times before. It’s more of the same to you to keep buying into the bullshit.

You can read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. It’s all copies and variations of that. They’re all ideas that blame you when you’re not the next Jeff Bezos instead of blaming the broken system. We don’t all want to become the oppressor in order to get rich.

I am because we are.

- Ubuntu

We do not create a new world with one definitive answer. It’s co-created with ALL our voices.

You’ve always worked hard. You’ve focused. You’ve listened. And yet, there is more.

So,

Play gently.

Try something new.

Share your story.

Diffuse your focus and experiment.

Take a break from the rules of the old way and reimagine an entirely new paradigm.
